Our aim is to provide a cost effective, tailored service, which enables school leaders, governors and stakeholders to understand the background, the process, the legalities, organisations structures and the financial aspects of becoming an Academy.  As Schools direct.com are committed to supporting all schools, there is no pressure put on governors or school leaders to convert, by our consultants.

Initially Schools direct.com can assist with:

• Introducing Academy Status to Governors, staff and stakeholders
• Presenting the benefits and risks in an unbiased,  informative manner
• Advising on all relevant procedures

Where the school leaders and governors are satisfied that Academy Status is right for the school, Schools direct.com will offer the appropriate level of service required. This may include:

• Project management of the full conversion process
• Procuring financial and other required IT systems
• Management of TUPE requirements
• Setting up the new Company Limited by Guarantee
• Establishing the new governance structure
• Completing the necessary land transfer / lease arrangements
• Novation of existing contracts
• Procuring new or alternative services for the school

Post conversion, Schools direct.com will support the school for as long as required. In most cases we find that client schools request our services on an on-going basis, owing to the high quality, professional, friendly and personal nature of our business. 

Should schools decide that Academy Status is not for them, Schools direct.com can still assist with developing a more independent focus, within either local authority or religious diocese control.
